Extreme Points

Let S be a nonempty convex set and x∈S, it is said that x is an extreme point of S if

x=x1d + x2(1-d), with x1, x2∈ S, d ∈ (0,1)

Then we have

x=x1=x2

In other words: there not exists a segment into set S containing x.
