3D Functions Plotter

Functions 3D Plotter is a support tool designed to represent graphs of functions of two variables, ie functions of the form
f: R
2 → R
(x,y) → f(x,y)
Functions 3D Plotter calculates the double integral in analytical and numerical formats, this last being in approximate mode.
Variables
Use x and y vars only, other variables are not supported, for exemple if you enter
f(x,y): x^2 + t^2
an error message will be shown, the correct way is
f(x,y): x^2 +x^2
Examples and functions notation
These constants are supported
Constant |
Value |
pi | 3.14159... |
e | 2.71828... |
1e-3 | 0.001 |
2/3 | 0.666... |
All Mathstools apps support a large number of of functions, examples are
Function |
Description |
abs(x) | absolute value of x |
e^(-x) | exponential of -x |
log(x^2+1) | Natural logarithmic of x^2+1 |
tan(x) | tangent of x |
sqrt(x+1) | square root of x+1 |
arcsin(x+1) | arco sine of (x+1) |
cosec(x) | cosecant of x |
(x^2+1)/(x^3+2) | Polynomic division |
cosh(x) | Hyperbolic cosine of x |
If in doubt, always use parentheses, for example to represent the function
use 1/(sin(2*x))
|
Note that
Some calculations uses numerical methods (as in this case the definite integral) that means that these calculations are subject to two kind of errors
1)Truncation mehod error
2)Error due to limitation of computer arithmetic
Use 3DFunctions responsibly as a support tool and as suggestion. Learning mathematics is only practicing, therefore, the calculations must be made by the student.
